The Traditional Wrestling Federation of North Macedonia signed an agreement this winter with ITSGA in order to obtain moral and logistical support to organize a world gathering of traditional wrestling. I remind you that the use of the ITSGA logo must be done in a measured way.
This event was also supported by the Agency for Youth and Sports of North Macedonia, the Ministry of Culture, the Skopje City Municipality, and the Studeničani Territorial Community.
The program offered on the first day an international conference at the International Balkan University, àn the second day, a demonstration of the different wrestling styles in a square near the “old bazaar” of Skopje. On Sunday morning, a seminar was organized to discover the organization of the different federations present. The main event took place in the afternoon with a festival mixing culture and sport in a rural setting: the international open tournament of “Pelivansko borenje” (oil wrestling) in the town of Studeničani, southeast of Skopje.
Many delegations had been invited, although unfortunately several were prevented due to travel costs or visa problems. However, teams from France, Italy, Serbia, Romania, Bulgaria, Greece, Turkey, Albania, and Kosovo were present, as well as delegates from Poland and Austria.
